Samuel Morris has been an apprentice civil engineer at Balfour Beatty since August 2017. Prior to that, they were the human resources director at Balfour Beatty Construction Services UK from May 2015 to August 2017. In that role, they were responsible for all aspects of HR strategy and operations across the business, leading all people aspects of major mobilisation and divestment activity, including in Australia, Germany, and across the UK. Samuel also acted as coach and trusted adviser to the CEO and our Leadership team, helping to drive performance of our teams. Samuel's role was to energise the business through bringing talented senior people into our business and supporting the development of the key talent, working with them on their development plans. Additionally, they led the Balfour Beatty Group Employee Relations Centre of Expertise. Samuel's role was to shape and deliver the Employment and Trade Union strategy for Balfour Beatty Group and lead the team of experts who delivered the people elements of change projects right across the Group. Samuel's responsibilities included organising the Group’s response to gender pay reporting, GDPR and to monitor all changes to employment law to ensure the Group remained compliant.
Samuel Morris studied for a Master's degree in Human Resources Management and Services at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Prior to this, they completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Samuel'story at the same institution.
Their manager is Lizzie Wells, Project Manager. Samuel Morris works with Charles Hudson - Site Engineer, Patrick Tavares - Section Engineer, and Matthew Brown (01) - Sub Agent.
