Jeff Atwater

Partner & Chair, Financial Services Practice at Ballard Partners

Jeff Atwater is a partner and chair of the financial services practice at Ballard Partners. Jeff previously served as vice president and chief financial officer of Florida Atlantic University from July 2017 to August 2020. From November 2010 to June 2017, they served as Florida's Chief Financial Officer. In this role, they were responsible for keeping hard-earned dollars in Floridians' pockets, fighting fraud, waste and abuse, diversifying Florida's economy, promoting fiscal transparency, and protecting Florida's consumers. From March 2008 to May 2010, they served as Senate President of the Florida Senate. Jeff also served as a senator from November 2002 to November 2010 and as a state representative from November 2000 to November 2002. Prior to their political career, they were president of Bank of America Broward County from January 1998 to December 2000 and chairman, president, and CEO of Barnett Bank Broward County & The Treasure Coast from January 1994 to December 1998. Jeff also served as vice mayor of North Palm Beach from January 1993 to December 1994.

Jeff Atwater has a Bachelor's degree in Finance and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Florida.
