Chris Hosek

Director at Ballet Austin

Chris Hosek is the current Director at Ballet Austin. Prior to their current position, Hosek served as the Chief of Staff at the Railroad Commission of Texas from March 2005 to September 2010. In this role, they were responsible for initiating proposals and recommendations to improve Commission planning structure, operations and policies. Chris also served as a liaison between staff and the Commissioner, and consulted with members of the Legislature, foreign trade delegations, executive offices of other state agencies, business leaders and associations to discuss issues, coordinate activities and resolve problems. Hosek also conducted media relations and prepared testimony and talking points. In addition, they met with all division directors to discuss budgetary compliance, financial condition and future needs. Chris also participated in Texas trade missions to Mexico, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Before their time at the Railroad Commission of Texas, Hosek served as the Legislative Director at the Texas House of Representatives from January 1999 to March 2005.

Chris Hosek's educational career began at Texas State University, where they majored in Communications. After graduation, they began their career in the communications field.
