Tom Sjölund has strong experience in electrical engineering, particularly in the design and engineering of navigation systems, communication systems, and IT networks. Tom has worked at Baltic Yachts Oy Ab Ltd since 2016 as a Senior Electrical Engineer, where they have been responsible for the design and engineering of navigation systems, communication systems, and IT networks. Prior to that, they worked at Flink Engineering Ab Oy as an Electrical Design Engineer from 2007 to 2016, where they performed subcontractor work for Baltic Yachts and was involved in the design, engineering, and commissioning of navigation systems and communication systems. Tom also worked at Oy Nautor Ab from 2000 to 2007 as a Designer, Electrics, and Instruments, where they were responsible for the design, engineering, and commissioning of navigation systems and communication systems.
Tom Sjölund obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology and Telecommunication and Information Technology from Novia University of Applied Sciences from 1996 to 2000. In addition, they have obtained several certifications including an Amateur Radio Licence - General class HAREC in 2023, DM NVX Design and Application (DM-NVX) in 2020, Foundations of Crestron Programming (CTI-P101) in 2017, an Amateur Radio License - Basic class in 2011, and a Marine VHF - Short range certificate in 2001. Tom has also obtained various technician certifications including SAILOR 4300 Technician, TracPhone V3-HTS Technician, TracPhone V7-HTS Technician, TracVision TV5, TV6, and TV8 Technician from KVH Industries, Inc. in 2020, B&G Certified Technician and Simrad Certified Technician from Navico in different years.
