Erica Rivas

Erica Rivas is an accomplished human resources professional with extensive experience in managing employee relations, recruitment, and workforce planning across diverse organizations. Currently serving as the Deputy Chief of Human Resources at Baltimore City’s Department of General Services since March 2022, Erica oversees HR operations for over 350 employees. Previously, as Human Resources Manager at The Johns Hopkins University from July 2015 to March 2022, responsibilities included managing employment processes for approximately 1,000 staff and faculty, enhancing workplace satisfaction, and expanding diversity in recruitment efforts. Erica has also held HR management positions at Learn-It Systems and H & S Bakery, where significant improvements in recruitment efficiency and employee retention were achieved. Academically, Erica holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Development Human Resources from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's Degree in Modern Languages and Linguistics from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.
