Jim Macgill has extensive experience in planning and management for human services organizations, currently serving as the Assistant Commissioner at the Baltimore City Health Department since October 2019. In addition to this role, Jim has been a self-employed consultant since March 2003, providing expertise to public agencies, non-profits, and foundations. Previous positions include Grants Development Manager at The Beacon Institute, Executive Director at 2-1-1 Maryland, Inc., and Deputy Secretary for the Maryland Department of Aging, where responsibilities included budget management and strategic planning. Jim also held roles as Coordinator for the Affinity Group on Aging and Grants Manager at various aging services organizations throughout Maryland. Jim holds a Master's degree in Gerontology from Antioch University and a Bachelor's degree in History from Columbia University.
