Kimberly Eshleman

Director, Office Of Public Health Preparedness And Response at Baltimore City Health Department

Kimberly Eshleman has extensive experience in the field of public health emergency preparedness and response. Kimberly started their career in 2005 as a Global Health Intern at CURE International, Inc., where they conducted research, provided administrative support, and evaluated faith-based children's global health curriculum.

In 2006, they worked as a Finance & Administrative Assistant/Relief Worker at Reach Global (EFCA), managing relief organization accounts and assisting with the organization of volunteers for hurricane relief efforts in New Orleans.

From 2008 to 2010, they served as the Assistant Strategic National Stockpile Coordinator at the DC Department of Health (DOH), where they managed emergency medical countermeasures and coordinated the distribution of supplies during the H1N1 response.

Kimberly then joined the Maryland Department of Health in 2010 as the State Cities Readiness Initiative Coordinator. In this role, they coordinated activities related to the Cities Readiness Initiative grant and developed partnerships for public health emergency response plans in Maryland.

Since 2015, Kimberly has been working at the Baltimore City Health Department. Kimberly initially served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Public Health Preparedness & Response, where they facilitated the implementation of preparedness programs and coordinated disaster response activities. Kimberly later became the Acting Director and then the Director of the same office, overseeing and facilitating the agency's emergency preparedness and response program. Kimberly liaises with public agencies and private entities, briefs senior management officials, and ensures effective plans and policies for emergency operations.

Kimberly Eshleman has a Master's Degree in Public Health with a concentration in International Health from Boston University. Kimberly also has a Bachelor's Degree in Biopsychology from Messiah University. In 2004, they participated in a study abroad program in Cairo, Egypt through the Middle East Studies Program.
