Nicholas Yates is an experienced educator with a strong background in mathematics, engineering, and computer science. Since July 2006, Nicholas has been teaching high school-level courses at Baltimore City Public Schools while also contributing to the development of STEM programs and extracurricular activities. In January 2023, Nicholas began serving as an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, focusing on computer science education. As a CS Professional Development Facilitator at the Maryland Center for Computing Education since July 2018, Nicholas has led professional development sessions for teachers statewide. Additional experience includes advising the Refugee Youth Project at Baltimore City Community College in 2014 and serving as a Teaching Assistant at Williams College from 2004 to 2006. Nicholas holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Arts in Teaching from Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Williams College.
