Karen Tyler, SHRM-CP has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Karen began their career at NCR Corporation in 1989, where they served as a Sr. Business Analyst. During this time, they were responsible for monitoring the performance and efficiency of federal contracts, managing the contracts, and providing legal counsel. Karen then joined Target in 2009, working in their Human Resources department until 2012. At Target, they gained experience in various HR functions. Karen then moved on to Live! Casino & Hotel, where they held multiple roles including HR Generalist, HR Business Partner, and Sr. HR Business Partner. In these roles, they provided HR support, represented the organization in employee-related hearings and investigations, and played a key role in HR management and compliance. Most recently, Karen worked as the Deputy Director of Human Resources at the Baltimore Police Department, a position they held from 2019 onwards.

Karen Tyler, SHRM-CP, holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Administration and Management, General, which they obtained from the University of Maryland Global Campus. In addition to their degree, they have obtained the SHRM-CP certification in February 2018 from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Karen also holds the Core Strengths Accountability Facilitator certification from Core Strengths® Institute, which they obtained in February 2016.
