Emily Ray

Emily Ray has extensive experience in the field of psychology and clinical services. Currently serving as the Ministry Assessment Specialist at the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church since 2014, Emily also holds the position of Director of Clinical Services at Saint Luke Institute, a role taken on in November 2016 after previously working as Associate Director of Clinical Services there. Prior to these roles, Emily contributed as a Clinical Adjunct at the American School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University from 2015 to December 2017 and as a Psychologist at both the Expressive Therapy Center and Saint Luke Institute from 2007 to 2017. Emily Ray holds a PhD in Counseling Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Dance Movement Therapy from UCLA, and a BA in Psychology and Dramatic Arts from Dickinson College.

Under the leadership of Bishop LaTrelle Easterling and Lay Leader Delores Martin, the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church is made up of 1,024 clergy and 177,031 members in 642 churches in Maryland, Washington, D.C., the panhandle of West Virginia and Bermuda. As a connectional church, the Baltimore-Washington Conference joins in ministry with churches around the world in 68 other annual conferences that make up the denomination, which totals more than 12 million members. The mission of the conference is to call, equip, send and support spiritual leaders to make disciples for the transformation of the world. The conference staff of more than 50 people does its ministry at the BWC’s Mission Center in Fulton, Md., at a satellite office at 12 S. Walnut St. in Hagerstown, and at three camps near Annapolis, Harper’s Ferry and Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
