Debarshi B.

Debarshi B. is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in quantitative research and investment strategy. Currently serving as a Senior Quant Researcher at Balyasny Asset Management L.P. since May 2025, Debarshi previously held the role of Managing Director at BlackRock from October 2014 to May 2025, leading a team that developed investment signals influencing approximately $70 billion in investments and contributing to sustainable investing initiatives managing around $100 billion in assets. Earlier roles at BlackRock included Director of the Quantitative Research for the Sustainable Investing team and Vice President, where Debarshi focused on quantitative signal research and model portfolio management. Prior to BlackRock, experience included a position as a SPICE Modeling Specialist at Texas Instruments and a graduate internship at Intel. Debarshi holds a Master of Financial Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, alongside a PhD and MSE in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, and a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras.
