Bruce Petersen is currently an advisor at BAM.Money, but they have a long and successful history in the financial industry. Bruce started their career at Goldman Sachs in 1985 and worked their way up to managing director by 2009. As global market risk manager for the Securities Division, they were responsible for allocating risk and balance sheet capital, enforcing limits, communicating with senior management and regulators, developing risk metrics, and improving control practices. Bruce also served on various committees, including the Firmwide Finance Committee, the Capital Management Committee, and the Operational Risk Committee.
In 2001, Bruce became the head NY trader of credit derivatives and is credited with founding the credit default swap business in NY. Bruce continued to trade exotic interest rate derivatives in NY until 1997 when they were promoted to head of Research for Futures Services. In 1988, they became the head of London Futures before returning to NY to take on their current role.
Bruce has been instrumental in the success of Goldman Sachs and has helped to shape the financial landscape as we know it today.
Bruce Petersen attended Princeton University, where they received a Bachelor of Arts in Bruce'story and a Certificate in Russian Studies.
