Alejandro Paz Velasco

Alejandro Paz Velasco has extensive work experience in the banking industry. Alejandro began their career at Grupo Aval, where they worked as a Credit Analyst, Financial Analyst, and later became a Project Head. In 2010, they joined Banco de Bogotá as a Credit Manager for Financial Institutions, where they developed and updated financial evaluation models and performed valuation of credits. Alejandro then served as the International Credit Director, establishing credit limits and monitoring clients' credit quality. Later, they took on the role of Credit Manager in the New York Agency, where they set risk limits and provided credit support during audits and regulatory visits. Alejandro then transitioned to strategic roles at Banco de Bogotá, first as the Corporate Strategy Director and then as the Director of Strategy and Business Development. Alejandro was responsible for structuring commercial strategy, stimulating sales team productivity, and implementing various projects and initiatives. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Segment Strategy and Sales Operations, where they continue to drive strategic initiatives for Banco de Bogotá.

Alejandro Paz Velasco completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Corporate Finance and Marketing from NYU Stern School of Business in 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Finance and International Affairs from Universidad Externado de Colombia, where they studied from 2000 to 2005.
