Johnny Monge

Johnny Monge is an accomplished financial professional with extensive experience in the banking sector. Currently serving as the Director Financiero at Banco Popular y de Desarrollo Comunal since January 2024, Johnny previously held the position of Gerente de Riesgos Financieros at Banco de Costa Rica from January 2019 to January 2024. Prior to that, Johnny spent nearly two decades at Banco Central de Costa Rica, where roles included Director de Departamento de Supervisión at Supen and Jefe de Análisis y Aprobaciones de Oferta Pública at Sugeval. Early career experience includes serving as Encargado de Control Interno at Hortifruti and Supervisor at Sugef. Johnny holds a Master of Science degree in Banca y Servicios Financieros from Universidad de Costa Rica, completed between 1995 and 1998.
