Lighting Designer at BANDALOOP

Jim French is a highly experienced lighting designer and supervisor with over 20 years in the field. Currently serving as the Lighting Supervisor at San Francisco Ballet since January 2015, Jim has designed lighting for numerous world premiere ballets and dance films, collaborating with acclaimed choreographers. In addition, Jim holds positions as a lighting designer for Alonzo King LINES Ballet and Ballet West, having contributed to notable productions like Romeo & Juliet and Jekyll & Hyde. Jim's extensive portfolio includes work with BANDALOOP and Pascal Rioult Dance Theater, alongside lighting design for corporate events through PH Productions. Jim has also shared expertise as a visiting professor at Mills College, holding an MFA in Lighting Design from Carnegie Mellon University and a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
