Dr. Shelly Nuruzzaman has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. In 1999, they worked as an Associate Research Physicist at Imperial College London, conducting experimental physics research in the field of Laser Fusion. This research took their to prestigious laser facilities such as Rutherford Laboratory, Limeil Laboratory, and Los Alamos National Laboratory.

In 2000, Dr. Nuruzzaman joined Deutsche Bank as an Equity Derivatives Developer, where they worked until December 2002. Dr. Shelly then moved on to WestLB, where they served as a Quantitative Analyst and Trader for the Emerging Markets Credit Derivatives Group from 2003 to 2005. During this time, they were responsible for the performance of trading activities and bookkeeping for the credit derivatives desk.

From 2005 to 2011, Dr. Nuruzzaman worked at BlackRock as a Quantitative Researcher - VP in the Trading Research Group. In this role, they partnered with Equity Trading and the Transitions business to develop a Multi Period Optimisation (MPO) calculator, which aimed to neutralize risk and minimize cost across time zones. Dr. Shelly'sresponsibilities included applying econometrics research to analyze trading trends across global markets and studying best execution across algorithmic trading.

Most recently, in 2019, Dr. Nuruzzaman became a Co-Founder of Bang Curry Ltd, a company they played a crucial role in establishing.

Dr. Shelly Nuruzzaman completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at UCL from 1991 to 1994. Dr. Shelly then pursued their Ph.D. in the field of Physics of Laser Produced Plasmas from Imperial College London, which they successfully obtained from 1996 to 1999.
