Miran Ali has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Miran started their career as a Director in Misami Garments Ltd in 1999 and later became the Managing Director of Bitopi Group in the same year. In 2006, Miran joined Tarasima Apparels Ltd as the Managing Director. They also worked as a Managing Director in Remi Holdings Ltd from 2013 and in Baridhi Garments Ltd from 2014. In 2015, Miran took up positions as the Vice President and Director at Brand BGMEA. Miran's involvement as a Spokesperson in STAR Network started in 2016. In 2020, they became a Director of the RMG Sustainability Council (RSC), which is a private initiative aimed at safety monitoring in the RMG sector. As of 2022, Miran is a Practitioner-in-residence at the Copenhagen Business School and a Spokesperson for STTI - Sustainable Terms of Trade Initiative.

Miran Ali completed their education with a Bachelor's degree in History from The Johns Hopkins University in 1997. They then pursued an MBA in International Business at the University of Bristol from 1997 to 1999. In 1999, they briefly attended Ecole des Ponts ParisTech for another MBA program. Prior to that, Miran Ali completed their A Levels at Haileybury UK from 1991 to 1993.

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) is one of the largest trade associations in the country representing the readymade garment industry, particularly the woven garments, knitwear and sweater sub-sectors with equal importance. Starting its journey in 1983 today BGMEA takes care of an industry that is at the backbone of Bangladesh’s economy. Since the inception, BGMEA is dedicated to promote and facilitate the apparel industry through policy advocacy to the government, services to members, ensuring workers’ rights and social compliance at factories. Mission and Vision: BGMEA works with the vision to develop the RMG industry of Bangladesh and the economy of the country.
