Johan Buse

Johan Buse is a seasoned global senior executive with over two decades of leadership experience in the telecommunications and digital sectors across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Banglalink Digital Communications Ltd., VEON’s digital operator in Bangladesh, effective April 2025.

Before joining Banglalink, Johan served as Chief of the Consumer Business Group at StarHub in Singapore, where he led strategic transformation initiatives and drove consumer business growth. His career also includes executive roles such as Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Oman, and senior leadership positions at Singtel, Axis Indonesia (STC), and Deutsche Telekom’s operations in Croatia and the Netherlands.

Johan also served as a Board Member at MyRepublic Broadband Pte Ltd and Strateq Group of Companies, contributing strategic oversight and governance expertise. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles within Deutsche Telekom Group across multiple markets, including Croatia and the Netherlands.

Known for his dynamic leadership and agile approach, Johan blends deep commercial expertise with a strong foundation in behavioral science. He holds a Master of Science in Psychology from London Metropolitan University and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business from Avans University of Applied Sciences. Johan is also a certified Scrum Master, Agile Product Manager, and Certified Advanced Behavioural Consultant, with additional credentials in leadership and agile methodologies.

He is a published researcher in the fields of psychology, management, and marketing, with work focusing on digital behavior and cyber scam susceptibility.
