Sasha Alpert is a three-time Emmy Award winner and has led BMP Films, the documentary division of Bunim/Murray Productions, since she launched it in 2007. Alpert recently produced TRANSHOOD which won the audience award at AFI Festival and will premiere on HBO in November 2020 as well as AUTISM: The Sequel which premiered on HBO in April. Prior to that she produced Independent Lens Audience Award-winning documentary THEY CALL US MONSTERS (PBS/Neflix), which follows three juveniles being tried as adults as they await their respective trials; the two-time Emmy Award-winning documentary AUTISM: The Musical; and VALENTINE ROAD (HBO), which premiered in competition at the Sundance Film Festival and aired on HBO in 2013. She has also cast more than 25 seasons of The Real World (MTV), 11 seasons of Project Runway (Lifetime), 3 seasons of Best Ink (Oxygen) and The Simple Life (E!/FOX), and was awarded a 2017 Emmy Award for “Outstanding Casting of a Reality Program” for Born This Way (A&E). As the Executive Vice President of Programming and Development, Alpert’s focus is on the development of longer form docu-series utilizing her knowledge and experience in documentary film storytelling.
