Ryan Banerjee is a Principal Economist at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), specializing in monetary policy and emerging markets since December 2012. Responsible for leading cross central bank reports on capital market development and managing debt vulnerabilities, Ryan has also contributed to macroeconomic analysis and prepared policy notes for the bi-monthly meetings of governors. Prior experience includes senior economist roles at the Bank of England, focusing on Basel III liquidity regulation and the monetary and financial assessment of the Bank's Quantitative Easing policy. Ryan holds a PhD in Economics with a focus on International Finance from the University of Maryland, as well as an MSc from The London School of Economics and a BA from the University of Cambridge.
