Merita Bejtja

Inspector General at Bank of Albania

Merita Bejtja is the current Inspector General at Bank of Albania. Merita has previously worked as the Managing Director of Raiffeisen Leasing International GmBh from January 2008 to December 2015, and as a Manager at Raiffeisen Bank from January 2004 to December 2010. In their role as Risk Manager, they were responsible for overseeing the bank's risk management processes and procedures. Prior to their work in the banking sector, Bejtja was an Operation Manager at BKT from January 2000 to December 2004.

Merita Bejtja has a Master of Science (MSc) in Finance and Financial Management Services from the European University of Tirana, a Master's degree in Banking and Financial Support Services from the University of Tirana, and two bachelor's degrees, one in informatics from the University of Tirana and one in economics from the University of Tirana. Merita also has a Master's degree in economics from the University of Tirana, and is currently a Ph.D. Candidate in accounting at the University of Tirana.

Merita Bejtja reports to Gent Sejko, Governor. They are on a team with Natasha Ahmetaj - Second Deputy Governor, Donald Duraj - Head of Cabinet .
