Marie-France Paquet

Senior Policy Director at Bank of Canada

Marie-France Paquet currently serves as Senior Director at the Bank of Canada since August 2024. Prior to this role, Marie-France held the position of Chief Economist at Global Affairs Canada from September 2017 to August 2024, managing a team that focused on international trade and economic issues. From October 2013 to August 2017, Marie-France was the Director General of Surface, Intermodal Security, and Emergency Preparedness at Transport Canada, where significant responsibilities included coordinating policy responses to critical incidents and managing a large team and budget. Earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Operations at the Privy Council Office and holding roles at Finance Canada, as well as academic contributions as an Assistant Professor at the Telfer School of Management. Marie-France holds dual PhD degrees in Economics from the University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne and Université Laval.
