Matthew Meagher is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in both public and private sectors. Currently serving as Assistant General Counsel at the Bank of Canada since August 2014, Matthew Meagher leads the Bank's Legal Services group and provides comprehensive legal support across all business lines. Previously, as Senior Legal Counsel at the Bank of Canada, Matthew Meagher specialized in labour and employment law, human rights, and workplace issues. Prior to this, Matthew Meagher held roles at Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, including Director of Human Resources Services (Acting) and Senior Counsel, where responsibilities included managing HR services and providing legal advice on employment law matters. Matthew Meagher began the legal career as an Associate at Miller Thomson LLP, focusing on commercial litigation and employment law. Matthew Meagher holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Economics from McGill University.
