Syed Asghar

Syed Asghar is a Senior Analyst in the Enterprise Risk Office (ERO) at the Bank of Canada since April 2021, focusing on the implementation of the Operational Risk Program by introducing processes, metrics, and digital tools. Prior experience includes roles at CIBC from July 2015 to April 2021 as a Senior Risk Data Analyst, where Syed executed risk data governance and reporting solutions, created advanced dashboards for data quality management, and provided subject matter expertise in regulatory reporting. Syed has also held analyst positions in Risk Data Management and Capital Markets at CIBC, and began a career as a Research Assistant at York University, contributing to financial and credit risk model research. Syed holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics for Commerce – Actuarial Science from York University and completed advanced level examinations in Mathematics and Economics at St. Patrick's High School.
