Himali Hettihewa

Himali Hettihewa currently serves as Head of Global Trade Strategy at the Bank of England since May 2018, having held various senior positions including Senior Manager in Risk Management, Senior Advisor for International Engagement, and Senior Manager for Fintech Policy and Authorisations. In addition to this role, Himali serves as Vice Chair of the Board at Money A+E since June 2021. Prior experience includes senior management roles at the Bank of England from March 2013 to 2018 and at the Financial Services Authority from October 2008 to March 2013, focusing on risk and policy advisory capacities within financial sectors. Academic qualifications include a Master of Laws in International Economic Law, Justice, and Development from Birkbeck, University of London, and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Kingston University, as well as studies in Pre-Medicine at Grand Valley State University.
