Liz Oakes

Liz Oakes currently serves as an External Member of the Financial Policy Committee at the Bank of England and holds positions as an independent non-executive director on the boards of Advent International Stargate and Mangopay. With extensive experience in the payments industry, Oakes previously held the role of Executive Vice President at Mastercard, where significant achievements included winning a CEO Award for the acquisition of Nets Corporate Services. Oakes' board experience includes leadership roles at HomeSend and VocaLink Holdings Limited, along with a background as an Expert Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company, providing strategic advice in the payments sector. Oakes began their career in various roles at KPMG in both the UK and US, building expertise in payments advisory services and operational strategies. Oakes holds a BA in Business Studies with German from the University of Hertfordshire.
