Tim Willems

Tim Willems currently serves as a Senior Research Economist at the Bank of England since January 2023. Prior to this role, Tim worked as an Economist at the International Monetary Fund from September 2015 to January 2023. Tim's academic journey includes a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the University of Oxford between August 2012 and September 2015, and a PhD candidacy at Universiteit van Amsterdam from September 2008 to July 2012. Tim also gained experience as an intern at Sveriges Riksbank for a brief period in late 2011 and at De Nederlandsche Bank in 2007. Tim's educational background includes studies at UCL from 2007 to 2008 and a bachelor's degree from Tilburg University, completed from 2003 to 2007, after attending Peelland College Deurne from 1997 to 2003.
