James C. Polk

Vice Chair & Chief Banking Officer at Bank of Hawaii

James C. Polk is Vice Chairman of Bank of Hawaii and is a member of the bank’s Managing Committee. Mr. Polk has management responsibilities for all of the bank’s consumer lending activities, including Mortgage Banking, Direct Consumer Lending and Dealer Indirect Lending.

Mr. Polk joined Bank of Hawaii in 1999 and has served in a variety of leadership roles over the years including leadership roles as manager of The Private Bank, Commercial Banking Group, Mortgage Banking Division and the West Pacific Region. With over 27 years in the financial industry, he earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan and is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program. He is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Mr. Polk currently serves as a board member for the Hawaii Medical Service Association, After-School All-Stars Hawaii and Bishop Museum, and is a trustee of The Nature Conservancy Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University.
