Head Of Sustainable Finance at Bank of New Zealand

Adam Coxhead has a diverse work experience in the banking and finance industry. Adam is currently working at the Bank of New Zealand as the Head of Sustainable Finance since July 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Head of Sustainable Finance, Capital Markets at the same company from January 2022 to July 2022. In addition, they have experience working at the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute as a Member of the Technical Advisory Group from October 2022 to June 2023. Before joining the Bank of New Zealand, they worked at NAB as the Head of Corporate Finance, Europe from September 2020 to December 2021, and as the Head of Specialised & Acquisition Finance, Europe from January 2017 to September 2020. Furthermore, they worked as the Director of Specialised Finance at NAB from January 2014 to January 2017. Prior to their tenure at NAB, they worked at Bank of New Zealand as an Associate Director of Corporate & Specialised Finance from August 2011 to December 2013. Adam also gained valuable experience at National Australia Bank, where they held various roles including Associate Director of Project Finance from May 2010 to August 2011, Strategic Business Services from July 2009 to May 2010, and Credit Risk from July 2006 to June 2009. Additionally, they worked at Bank of New Zealand in the Corporate & Institutional Banking department from February 2004 to June 2006. Overall, Adam Coxhead has demonstrated expertise in sustainable finance, corporate finance, specialised finance, project finance, and credit risk.

Adam Coxhead has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Canterbury. Adam then went on to study at the Institute of Professional Legal Studies and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. In 2021, Adam enrolled at the University of Cambridge to pursue a degree in Business Sustainability Management. Currently, they are also completing a Green & Sustainable Finance Certificate from The Chartered Banker Institute, which is expected to be completed in 2023.
