Tony Gilden

Tony Gilden has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Tony began their career in 1982 as a Computer Operator and Analyst Programmer at General Finance NZ Ltd. Tony then worked as a Senior Analyst Programmer at CIGNA Global Reinsurance Company, Ltd. from 1987 to 1989 and later at Sphere Drake Insurance Public Limited Company from 1989 to 1990. Tony joined Cigna New Zealand in 1991, where they served as a Senior Analyst Programmer - Team Leader until 1994. Tony then joined Westpac New Zealand Limited as a Senior Analyst Programmer for a brief period in 1995. Tony returned to Cigna New Zealand in 1998 as a Project Manager, where they stayed until 2008. In 1995, they also worked at Bank of New Zealand as a Telephone Banking Software Development Manager. From 2009 to 2010, Tony worked as a Senior Project Manager at Wellington City Council. Tony rejoined Bank of New Zealand in 2010 and held various positions including Snr Project Manager, Project Management Portfolio Lead, Portfolio Manager - Enterprise Portfolio Office, and Portfolio Manager - Cards & Payments Platforms. Currently, Tony is working as the Head of Product Portfolio Office at Bank of New Zealand.

Tony Gilden completed their Master's of Project Management (MPM) degree at Unitec | Te Pūkenga from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a diploma in Management from IMNZ - Institute of Management New Zealand, where they studied Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from 1996 to 2000. Additionally, Tony earned a degree in Business Administration and Management, General (NZDIPBUS) from the Open Polytechnic of New Zealand between 1995 and 2001.

In terms of certifications, Tony Gilden has completed several professional programs. In 2022, they obtained the certification for Professional Banking Fundamentals (G-FIN) from FINSIA (Financial Services Institute of Australasia). In 2020, they became Microsoft Certified in Azure Fundamentals. Furthermore, Tony achieved the Future Ready Leaders certification from The Mind Lab in 2019 and became an IC Agile Certified Professional in the same year through ICAgile. In 2013, they earned the Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification from the Project Management Institute. Additionally, Tony obtained the PRINCE2® Practitioner certification from PRINCE2.com in 2009 and the FINSIA Fellow (F Fin) certification from FINSIA in 1999. Most recently, they became a Certified SAFe® 5 Lean Portfolio Manager through Scaled Agile, Inc. in 2021.
