Gareth Powell

Gareth Powell currently serves as the Group Chief Human Resources Officer at First Abu Dhabi Bank since July 2023. Prior to this role, Gareth Powell enjoyed a distinguished career as Chief Human Resources Officer at various institutions, including the Commercial Bank of Dubai, First Gulf Bank, and HSBC, from April 2021 to July 2023. Previous positions also include Chief Human Resources Officer at the Commercial Bank of Dubai from October 2016 to March 2021, Head of Human Resources at First Gulf Bank from May 2011 to October 2016, and Head of Learning, Talent, Resourcing & Organisation Development at HSBC Latin America from October 2008 to April 2011. Earlier career experience includes serving as SVP & Head of Corporate Human Resources at HSBC Bank USA from 2006 to 2008. Gareth Powell earned a BA Hons in Medieval Spanish Literature from King's College London between 1982 and 1985.
