Scott Newman

Scott Newman is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in audit, risk management, and governance across various financial institutions. Currently serving as the Executive Vice President and Chief Audit Executive at Banner Bank since June 2024, Scott has held prominent roles such as Director of Risk Management and Internal Audit at PEMCO and General Auditor at Columbia Bank, where contributions included modernizing internal audit functions and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Scott also serves as a Public Board Member for the Washington State Board of Accountancy and is involved with the University of Washington Tacoma's School of Urban Studies Advisory Board. Educational qualifications include a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Business Administration - Finance from Central Washington University, along with an Executive Development Program certification from the UW Foster School of Business.
