Veronica Pendleton

Dr. Veronica Pendleton is a highly-regarded educator with 22 years of experience that spans from the classroom to administration. She is well respected amongst her students and peers for her compassionate and innovative methods in education. Currently, Dr. Pendleton serves as the Director of Educational Services with the Banning Unified School District where she provides essential instructional leadership to support the district’s vision of preparing, inspiring, and educating students so they may successfully compete in a global society.

Dr. Pendleton began her career in education as a high school teacher in the Inland Empire. Her professional experience also includes serving as a Spanish and English language development teacher, activities director, assistant principal, and principal. As a secondary administrator, Dr. Pendleton provided leadership in districts with high schools of over 2,600 students. Her area of expertise included school improvement, curriculum development, instructional professional development, and program development.

Dr. Pendleton is highly skilled in Common Core Standards, research-based strategies, and the assessment-driven model of instruction creating optimum support for students and teachers. She is credited with developing and implementing interventions to close achievement gaps of historically low-performing schools. Dr. Pendleton applied her forward-thinking abilities to work collaboratively with other educators to develop a tier intervention plan to address low-graduation outcomes and high suspension rates. Additionally, her team addressed state indicators of school success through supporting the social-emotional needs of students by providing individual mentoring for the most at-risk youth.

Dr. Pendleton led Perris Union High School District to be recognized for increasing the English learner reclassification rates in Riverside County. Under her leadership, Coronado High School earned the distinguished California State recognition of Model School. Additionally, Dr. Pendleton was recognized by the West Covina Unified School District as Principal of the Year in 2018.

Dr. Pendleton earned a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and her teaching credential with a bilingual certification from California State University, San Bernardino. She also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from the University of La Verne.
