Abdelhamid Mortagy has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Abdelhamid started their career as an intern at Beltone Financial in 2004 and later worked as an intern at EFG-Hermes in 2006. In 2007, they joined the Central Bank of Egypt as the Head of Fund of Funds in the Reserves Management Unit. After four years, they transitioned to UBS as an Analyst in 2011. In 2017, they became the Vice President of Foreign Institutional Equity Sales and Trading at Pharos Holding for Financial Investments. Abdelhamid then took on various roles at Banque du Caire, including Head of Debt Capital Markets, Head of Investor Relations, and Chief Investment Officer. Alongside their banking career, they have also served as a Lecturer at the German International University since 2021.

Abdelhamid Mortagy holds a Master of Science in Finance from The George Washington University School of Business, which they obtained in 2010. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Management with a double major in Finance and Information Systems at The German University in Cairo from 2003 to 2007. Abdelhamid completed their high school education and obtained a High School Diploma from Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule in Kairo from 1990 to 2002.
