Ricardo Villagomez Acuña

Ricardo Villagomez Acuña has a strong background in data science, engineering, and automation. Ricardo is currently working as a Data Science Lead at Banregio and Hey Banco. Prior to this, Ricardo worked as an Engineering Consultant and Data Scientist at Kiss Technologies, Inc. Here, they conducted large-scale data processing and exploratory analysis for major steel producers worldwide, using statistical and machine learning algorithms to identify variables leading to poor product quality. Ricardo also has experience as an Electrical Design Engineer at John Deere, where they focused on harness and structural modeling, schematics, engineering drawings, and on-site support for sugarcane harvesters. Before that, they worked as a Maintenance and Automation Intern at Metalsa, where they focused on PLCs and HMIs from Allen Bradley. Ricardo also had an intern role at Primetals Technologies, where they developed new features and programmed functions for steel producers using VBScript and JS on WinCC.

Ricardo Villagomez Acuña completed their Master of Science in Analytics degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, they obtained their degree in Ingeniería en Mecatrónica from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León between 2010 and 2016. In 2014 and 2015, Ricardo also studied Ingeniería en Mecatrónica at Technische Universität Dresden. Furthermore, they obtained a certification in Building AI-Based Cybersecurity Pipelines from NVIDIA in 2022.
