Richard Mico

Richard Mico is the current Group General Counsel at Banxa. Richard has over 15 years of experience working in the legal industry, with a focus on banking, finance, and compliance. Prior to joining Banxa, Richard was a Consultant at Peerpoint, advising private and listed banking, financial services, fintech, technology, and professional services organisations across legal, corporate governance, operational risk, compliance, and procurement. Richard has also held positions as the Deputy Group General Counsel and Deputy Group Head of Operational Risk and Compliance at humm group, as well as the Director & Associate Counsel for APAC, MEA, Russia & CIS at Western Union Business Solutions. Richard started their career as a Paralegal at King & Wood Mallesons before becoming an Associate (Banking and Finance) at Norton Rose Fulbright.

Richard Mico has a LLM from UNSW in Corporate and Commercial Law, a Legal Practice Management Course from The College of Law Australia, a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice (GCLP) from University of Technology Sydney, an LLB from University of Technology Sydney, an LLB from University of Ottawa in Law, and a B.Bus from University of Technology Sydney in International Business.
