Zach Prowda started their work experience in 2001 as a Design Intern at Shalom Baranes Associates. In 2004, they worked as a Model Builder at Bennett Lavacot Architecture. Zach then joined Mitchell and Riera Architects in 2005 as a Designer, staying with the company until 2008. In 2009, Zach worked as an Exhibit Designer and Producer at Mercy Corps. In 2010, they became an Associate at BAR Architects & Interiors, and later became a Senior Associate, Architect in 2015. From 2017 to 2020, Zach served as the Director of BAR Los Angeles, managing the design and execution of local projects. Currently, they are working as an Associate Principal and Director of the LA Studio at BAR Architects & Interiors, where they are responsible for altering the aesthetics, usability, and social and environmental health of the ecosystems they are building in.
Zach Prowda has a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon, which they obtained from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they earned a BA in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley between 2001 and 2005. In 2004, they also studied Architecture and Design at the Danish Institute for Study Abroad. Additionally, Zach has additional certifications as an Architect from the California Architects Board and as a LEED AP from the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
