Vijay Shankar

Vijay Shankar currently serves as Managing Director and Head of Transaction Banking for the APAC and Middle East regions at Barclays Corporate Banking since February 2025. Prior to this role, Vijay held the position of Head of Transaction Banking for ASEAN, India, and Regional Sales at ANZ from November 2008 to October 2024, where Vijay was instrumental in launching Payments & Cash Management and Trade & Supply Chain services across Asia. Earlier experiences include transforming Standard Chartered Bank into an agile organization as Head of Transaction Banking Products for South Asia, leading a successful implementation team at Deutsche Bank, and establishing centralized operations at GE Countrywide Consumer Financial Services. Vijay holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Economics, and Business Law from Seshadripuram First Grade College.
