Juli Smith

Juli Smith is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in the financial services sector, currently serving as Managing Director and General Counsel at Barclays Capital Inc. since 2009. Smith leads a team overseeing US Bank Regulation, treasury and funding transactions, US M&A activity, and distressed loan positions. Previously, Smith held the position of Assistant General Counsel at AIG, managing IP, technology, and outsourcing matters, and played a critical role during the 2008 financial crisis. Early career experience includes serving as an Associate in the Corporate Department at Latham & Watkins LLP. Smith holds a JD from Columbia Law School, a BA from Brown University, and a Masters in Public Administration from Columbia University's SIPA.
