Beate Liepert

Beate Liepert is a distinguished academic and researcher currently serving as a Visiting Professor in Physics and Director of the Environmental Studies Concentration at Bard College, as well as Co-Director of the Center of Environmental Sciences and the Humanities. With a robust background in environmental sciences and physics, Beate has held various academic and leadership roles, including Visiting Professor at Seattle University and Adjunct Professor at DigiPen Institute of Technology, where a course on the "Physics of Light" was developed for BFA students. Beate's expertise extends to significant research and advisory positions within organizations such as True Flood Risk, Lumen LLC, and Northwest Research Associates, focusing extensively on climate change and atmospheric physics. Contributions to scientific literature include roles as an editor for Environmental Research Letters and collaborative works with NASA. Beate earned a Doctor of Natural Sciences degree in Physics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
