Daniel Calingaert

Daniel Calingaert is an experienced leader in global education and policy analysis, currently serving as Managing Director of the Open Society University Network and Dean for Global Programs at Bard College since September 2019. Calingaert has directed strategic initiatives to enhance academic collaboration and access to higher education across a global network of 45 institutions. Previous positions include Senior Consultant at the U.S. Institute of Peace, Executive Vice President at Freedom House, and roles in various international organizations, where Calingaert has focused on promoting democratic governance and managing significant programs and budgets. Calingaert holds a Doctor of Philosophy and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Oxford, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Tufts University.
