Josiah Turnquist

Josiah Turnquist's work experience began in 2015 as a Camp Counselor and Cabin Leader at Koinonia Conference Grounds, where they demonstrated leadership skills and mentored younger counselors. In 2018, they became a Club Coordinator for Cru, establishing a branch on campus and facilitating discussions on Bible-related topics. During this time, they also served as a Program Instructor and Mathematics Tutor for the TRIO, Upward Bound Program, teaching introductory computer science courses and providing math tutoring. Josiah then worked at Diablo Valley College as a Communication Tutor, analyzing and critiquing speeches and presentations. Josiah also founded and structured a computer science tutoring department as the Computer Science Lead Tutor. In 2020, Josiah joined Fyresite as a Software Engineer, working on high-end products for various companies. Josiah later worked as an Instructional Assistant at Diablo Valley College, taking on responsibilities similar to a regular campus instructor. Josiah then joined togetherAI as a Software Engineer, integrating health data provider services and building health/biometric integrations. Most recently, they have been working as a Café Manager at The Grove Church, overseeing the scheduling, inventory, and training of baristas. Josiah currently holds the position of Technical Project Manager at Barefoot Solutions, where they are involved in making high-level tech, design, and business decisions.

Josiah Turnquist's education history begins in 2018 when they attended Diablo Valley College. Josiah obtained an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from 2018 to 2020, as well as an Associate of Science for Transfer degree in Mathematics from 2017 to 2020. Additionally, they earned an Associate of Arts for Transfer degree in Speech Communication and Rhetoric during the same period. Following their time at Diablo Valley College, Josiah pursued further education at UC San Diego from 2020 to 2022. Here, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.
