Peter Turlington

Peter Turlington has a diverse work experience in the construction and mining industries. Peter started their career as a Tunnel Engineering Intern at Kiewit, Underground District in 2010. Peter then worked as an Assistant Project Manager at Barnard Construction Company, Inc. in 2011.

From 2011 to 2012, Peter had multiple roles at Colorado School of Mines, including Mine Shifter and Teaching Assistant.

In 2012, Peter joined Newmont Corporation as a Global Finance Analyst in the Business Excellence department. Peter later transitioned to the role of Lean Six Sigma Black Belt - Technical Services, where they focused on improving operational performance and project validation. Peter also served as a Mine Engineer at Newmont's Twin Creeks mining operation, managing ore control and sampling aspects.

Peter continued their mining career at Newmont Peru S.R.L. in 2013 as a Consulting Engineer, specializing in cost control and resource allocation.

In 2015, Peter returned to Barnard Construction as a Project Engineer, and later became a Project Manager. In this role, they were responsible for planning and supervising construction projects, estimating costs, negotiating agreements, and obtaining permits.

Peter Turlington's education history begins in 2001 when they obtained their High School Diploma from Cairo American College. Peter then pursued their Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines from 2007 to 2011. Subsequently, Peter earned a Masters of Science degree in Mining and Earth Systems Engineering from the same institution in 2012.

In addition to their academic education, Peter Turlington has obtained several certifications. In 2010, they completed the 5000-23 Underground Safety Training program offered by MSHA. In 2013, they earned a Six Sigma Black Belt certification from ASQ - World Headquarters. Peter also obtained a Blasting License from the State of Nevada in September 2015, along with a Responsible Person certification from ATF in the same month. Furthermore, they completed the 30 Hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program provided by Occupational Health and Safety in September 2015. Lastly, Peter obtained a Blasting License from the State of Colorado in January 2020.
