Gabe Lawrence

Gabe Lawrence is an experienced software engineer with a diverse background in software development and engineering management, spanning over three decades. Currently a Senior Engineer at Barnes & Noble since November 2009, Gabe specializes in designing software for the company's eReader platform. Previously, Gabe held positions at major companies including Microsoft as a Senior Engineering Manager, TuneUp Media as a Windows Software Architect, and TiVo Inc. as Manager of Applications Development, overseeing the development of desktop platform products and mobility solutions. Additional experience includes managing software engineering at Verance Corp., co-designing server software at Conley Corporation/EMC, enhancing Lotus Notes at Lotus Development Corp., and architecting America Online's first Mac web browser. Gabe began the career at Shiva Corp. as Senior Technical Staff and managed Macintosh engineering at Layered Technologies. Gabe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from Boston University, obtained in 1985.
