Derek Zander

Derek Zander is a Senior Geological Engineer at Barr Engineering Co., with extensive experience in environmental remediation and emergency response management. Since October 2015, Derek has led onsite engineering for a $28 million project at a former gas plant in Fargo, ND, while also overseeing cleanup activities for crude oil and gas release sites across three states. Prior to this role, Derek served as a Staff Engineer at Earth Systems, Inc., providing management and safety oversight for spill-response projects, and at Keitu Engineers & Consultants, where project work involved extensive sampling and assessment of environmental contamination related to saltwater pipelines. Derek holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the University of North Dakota and an Associate of Science from Bismarck State College.
