McFarland Peter

McFarland Peter has extensive experience in education, currently serving as the Science Curriculum Leader at Barrington Middle School since August 2012, where responsibilities include the school-wide implementation of NGSS and Common Core standards, along with staff development in science education. Additionally, McFarland has been a teacher at Barrington Public Schools since September 1989, focusing on science and language arts for Grades 6 and 7. Previous experience includes serving as the Associate Executive Director of Child Care Services at Newport County YMCA from June 1986 to August 1989, overseeing a three-site child care facility, and teaching grades 5-8 in science, ELA, and religion at Newport County Catholic Regional School from September 1977 to June 1987. McFarland holds a Master of Arts in Education from Salve Regina University and a Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Rhode Island.
