Kerri Knotts

VP, Commercial Space at Barrios Technology

Kerri Knotts is Vice President of Commercial Space for Barrios Technology.

Kerri joined the Barrios team in 2020 supporting multiple areas of the company as Senior Manager in Business Development, Cross Program Integration on the Human Space Flight Technical Integration Contract (HSFTIC) and working on the plans for Barrios’ new Commercial Space service line.

Prior to joining Barrios, Kerri worked for 20 years as an Aerospace Engineer for NASA’s Johnson Space Center and has spent the last six years in the oil and gas industry running multiple manufacturing and service start-up businesses.

Kerri’s NASA career included multiple technical and leadership roles. She was an Extravehicular Activity (EVA) astronaut instructor, training the crews on the systems, procedures, and hardware needed to operate in space during complex Space Shuttle and International Space Station (ISS) construction missions. She was a certified NASA Flight Controller in the Mission Control Center (MCC) executing missions as an EVA Officer. Kerri also served as Systems Engineer and Integration (SE&I) Lead for Advanced EVA Systems, Deputy Manager for Advanced EVA Systems (developing a concept for an evolvable space suit system for low earth orbit, moon and Mars) and Chief of the Advanced Development and Integration Office (ADIO) in the Constellation Program setting requirements for exploration launch systems, landers and a lunar outpost.

Kerri is a graduate of the West Virginia University (WVU) Aerospace Engineering program and serves on the WVU Statler College of Engineering Advisory Committee, the WVU Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Advisory Committee and the WVU Foundation board. She spends her free time staying active in fitness and cheering on her two sons who are both in college studying engineering.
