Amanda Latimer

High School Science Teacher at Barrow County Schools

Amanda Latimer, PhD, is a seasoned educator and consultant with extensive experience in science education and biotechnology. Currently serving as a High School Science Teacher at Barrow County Schools and a Project Consultant for the Goat Brucellosis vaccine project, Amanda also holds the title of BioRad Education Fellow. As CEO, Farmer, and Owner of Latimer Luck Acres, Amanda manages a certified herd of dairy goats and produces goat milk soap. Amanda's academic background includes a PhD in Educational Theory & Practice from the University of Georgia, where involvement in the LISELL-B project focused on enhancing science education for English language learners. Previous roles include Biotechnology Outreach Coordinator at Athens Technical College and Research Scientist at Avigenics. Amanda has a strong foundation in both teaching and scientific research, with advanced degrees in biology and reproductive physiology.
