Michael K. Hirai, CFA has over 35 years of experience in the financial industry. Michael K. currently serves as the Director of Institutional Sales – Western U.S. at Barrow Hanley Global Investors, where they are responsible for overseeing sales in the Western region. Michael K. also briefly held the position of Director of Global Distribution at the same company. Prior to this, Hirai was a Senior Managing Director and Founding Partner at Metaurus Advisors LLC, where they played a key role in fundraising and focused on raising assets under management for the firm's ETFs. Michael K. also served as the Senior Vice President and Division Manager at First Hawaiian Bank for 13 years and was the Director, President, and CEO at Bishop Street Capital Management, the bank's registered investment advisor. With a strong background in fixed income strategies, Hirai held various roles at CIC / HCM Asset Management from 2000 to 2004, including Chairman and Partner. Before that, they were the President and Founder of HCM Capital Management for a decade. Hirai began their career as a Senior Portfolio Manager at Denney & Denney, Inc. Overall, their extensive experience spans across leadership, sales, and strategic roles in the financial industry.

Michael K. Hirai, CFA, graduated with a BBA with Distinction in Finance from the University of Hawai'i - Shidler College of Business in 1978. Michael K. then pursued an MBA with Honors in Accounting & Finance from the USC Marshall School of Business, completing their degree in 1980. Following their education, Michael obtained additional certifications including the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder from the CFA Institute in September 1988, and the Certified Public Accountant (not in public practice) from the AICPA in December 1980. Michael K. also acquired various securities licenses such as Series 7, Series 63, Series 3, and Series 30, all obtained in 2018 from FINRA.
