Joel Nickel

Joel Nickel currently serves as the Head of Mission Critical at Barton Malow since January 2024. Previously, Nickel held the position of Vice President and Executive Project Director for Mission Critical at Suffolk Construction from January 2022 to March 2024, overseeing a $568 million portfolio and managing multiple hyperscale projects. Earlier roles at Suffolk Construction included Executive Project Director, focusing on establishing a new business unit in Montana and generating around $125 million annually. Nickel also contributed as Executive Vice President of Supply Chain Management and Real Estate at Suffolk, transforming business practices and strategy. Prior experience includes roles at LafargeHolcim, Aggregate Industries, and Rinker Materials, specializing in environmental compliance, land management, and community relations within the construction and materials sectors. Nickel’s educational background features a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental/Environmental Health Engineering from Montana Technological University and advanced management programs from IMD.
